1.1.0: Pathfinder and the Worm
What's new
Pathfinder 2e, out of the box
Blob's Card Engine now speaks Pathfinder Second Edition. Sit a pf2e character at the table and the game uses their sheet:
- Gold is their coins. Ante up in Tavern Gambit and the coins come off the sheet, with change made from their platinum and silver. Winnings land back in their purse.
- Checks are pf2e checks. A bluff rolls Deception with pf2e's own dialog and chat card. Saves and Perception work the same way.
- Conditions have values. A card can leave you Frightened 2, and the Fate Deck hands out Blinded, Sickened, Prone and Hero Points.
- Initiative cards go straight into pf2e's combat tracker.
Games built for D&D 5e work in pf2e too: their checks and conditions are matched to pf2e's nearest ones.
The Harrow Deck: a free pack
A harrow deck for your Pathfinder table, free on the itch.io page. It has all 54 cards in six suits, the Choosing, and the Harrowing: nine cards in a grid of past, present and future. As each card turns over, the table tells you whether it's a true match, a partial match, opposite or misaligned, and stars the cards of the chosen suit. Save the reading to a journal when you're done.
It's free because it uses Paizo's material under their Community Use Policy, which doesn't allow charging for it.
His Majesty the Worm
A Reddit request, and the biggest addition yet: full support for His Majesty the Worm, the tarot-driven dungeon crawler. His Majesty the Worm has no Foundry system of its own, so Blob's Card Engine brings everything the game needs.

- The table. The fate deck and the doom deck with their discard piles, and a phase switch for the Crawl, the Challenge, Camp and the City. Tests of fate (favor, disfavor, Resolve, pushing your luck), the Meatgrinder with its loud-noise and careful pulls, and every card table in the book, read straight off the card you draw.
- The Challenge Phase, the way the book runs it. Enemy groups straight from the bestiary, the GM's doom cards, Initiative cards, the count from Ace to King, actions totalled against Initiative (hit or miss shown for you), minor actions revealed together, face-down actions that wait for their moment, and the Fool's reshuffle.

- An adventurer sheet. Attributes as the four Aces, Resolve, lore bids, the wound track, Bonds, talents with XP toward mastery, and gear in hands, belt and pack with notches and lights. When the Meatgrinder says the torches gutter, every lit torch on the sheets flickers. Test buttons draw a test of fate from the real deck at the table, and Push fate is right there after a failure.

- Everything goes to chat. Tests, pushes, Wounds and Camp recovery post what happened. One click shows a talent, an item or a Bond to the table.

- A reference journal. Every card table (card → result), the bestiary, spells, kith, kin and talents, Bonds and conditions, gear and upkeep, and the Camp and City actions, one click from the table.
Setting up: we suggest a Simple Worldbuilding world, since it doesn't get in the way. The Worm adventurer shows up in Create Actor there. In a D&D or Pathfinder world it stays out of that system's list unless you turn it on in the settings. The His Majesty the Worm page walks you through it.
His Majesty the Worm is copyright Joshua McCrowell. Blob's Card Engine is an independent production by Big Blob Games and is not affiliated with Joshua McCrowell or Exalted Funeral.
Play mats
Give a game its own table: a felt colour, and a picture under the cards (fill the table, tile it, or show it whole, darkened so the cards stand out). Set it in the Game Builder, or change it for one match with the Play mat button on the table.
Finding the game you want
The New match window used to be one long dropdown, and with more games (and your own) it got long fast. Now it's a picker: search as you type, with the games sorted into Favourites, Played recently, Card games, For your campaign, Trading card games and Your games. Each game shows a line about it and how many can play, and games that don't fit the players you've ticked are greyed out.
Fixed
- "What's new" works in Foundry's desktop app. The update message's link did nothing in the desktop app (it worked in browsers). It now opens the changes right inside Foundry. Click the version number at the bottom of the match manager to open it any time.
- Crowded tables (6–8 seats) no longer overlap cards and labels, and other players' hands show as a small fan of card backs instead of one card.
- Wide piles wrap onto a second line instead of pushing the deck off the table.
- The card library's preview keeps its shape in a short builder window.
How to update
Download the new zip from your itch.io library and replace the blobs-card-engine folder in Data/modules, then restart Foundry. Your games, decks and matches are kept.
