Pathfinder 2e
Blob's Card Engine works with the Pathfinder Second Edition system (pf2e 7 and later) out of the box: link a seat to a pf2e character and the games use that character's sheet.
What's linked
| In the game | On the pf2e sheet |
|---|---|
| Gold | The character's coins, counted in gold. Paying makes change from bigger coins, and winnings are paid in gold pieces. |
| Hit points | HP and temporary HP. Damage takes temporary HP first; healing stops at the maximum. |
| Hero Points | Hero Points (0 to 3). Games made for D&D's heroic inspiration treat it as a Hero Point: gaining inspiration gives one. |
| Checks | Skills, saving throws and Perception, rolled with pf2e's own check (its dialog and chat card). |
| Conditions | pf2e's conditions, with values: a card can make you Frightened 2. |
| Initiative | The Initiative Deck sets initiative in pf2e's combat tracker. |
Games written for D&D 5e work too: their checks and conditions are matched to pf2e's nearest ones. Deception is Deception, Insight and Perception checks become Perception, a Wisdom save becomes a Will save, and poisoned becomes Sickened 1.
In the settings, Character system picks the adapter. Automatic chooses Pathfinder 2e in a pf2e world.
The built-in games in pf2e
- Tavern Gambit plays for the characters' real coins, and the bluff is a pf2e Deception check.
- Fate Deck heals and hurts, gives conditions (Blinded, Frightened, Prone, Sickened) and Hero Points.
- Initiative Deck deals initiative cards into a pf2e combat.
The Harrow Deck (free pack)
The Harrow Deck is a free pack for Blob's Card Engine. Download it from the itch.io page and import it on the Games tab with Import pack.
- The deck: 54 cards in six suits, one per ability: Hammers (Strength), Keys (Dexterity), Shields (Constitution), Books (Intelligence), Stars (Wisdom) and Crowns (Charisma). Each card has an alignment.
- The Choosing: pick the suit that fits the question. A card of that suit stands for the one asking.
- The Harrowing: nine cards in a 3×3 grid. The columns are past, present and future (lawful, neutral, chaotic). The rows run from good at the top to evil at the bottom.
- Matches: as the cards turn over, each is labelled a true match, partial match, opposite or misaligned for its place. A ★ marks the cards of the chosen suit.
- Saving: Save to journal keeps the harrowing.
It's free because it uses Paizo's material under Paizo's Community Use Policy, which doesn't allow charging for it. That's why it isn't part of the module itself.
